Ligea McCracken Painter, 94, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 28 at a private residence. Born Dec. 17, 1917, in Afton, Okla., she was a former teacher, a former airline stewardess for the former Continental Airlines and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Calabash Cousins of the Daughters of Hawaii, life member of the Kona Outdoor Circle and P.E.O.

Services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by sons, Steven (Carla) Painter of Spencer, Iowa, Douglas (Amelia) Painter of Fostoria, Iowa; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one niece; one nephew.
